Jamie, better known as iGumdrop, has built a massive following for her cooking content across Twitch, YouTube, and Instagram, totaling more than two million fans. After more than ten years in streaming, she is stepping into reality TV to showcase her culinary talents.

In MasterChef Global Gauntlet Season 16, the show spotlights home cooks from various regions, competing in a World Cup-style format. Eight contestants audition for one of five white aprons per region, with four regions in play this season: Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. The ultimate aim is to earn their team a chance at the $250,000 prize.

iGumdrop announced her participation with a short video released on April 23, proudly displaying a MasterChef apron representing Team Asia-Pacific. Her appearance was also teased by MasterChef on social media, where Gordon Ramsay asked about life beyond the kitchen.

In the clip, Jamie shared her goal of putting Malaysian cuisine on the map. Ramsay praised her and her substantial social following, while Jamie emphasized that her aim isn’t fame but proving the quality of her food. Ramsay encouraged her not to overcook the wagyu, noting the aroma coming from her skewered preparation.

Securing a coveted white apron for Team Asia-Pacific, iGumdrop attributed her win to the influence of her father’s Malaysian street-food heritage. She even spoke of a future dream: opening a food truck together with him.

Her wagyu beef satay, paired with peanut sauce and coconut rice, earned praise from the judges. Tiffany Derry commended the dish’s presentation, while Ramsay called it authentic and delicious.
