Storage Wars Star Darrell Sheets’ Death: Co-Star Claims Cyberbullying Preceded It

René Nezhoda, a fellow Storage Wars veteran, alleges that a cyberbully tormented Darrell Sheets in the weeks leading up to Sheets’ death on April 22. Sheets, a fan-favorite on the long-running reality show, appeared in 163 episodes and was nicknamed “The Gambler” alongside his son, Brandon Sheets, often going all-in on bids for containers with the potential for profit.

Authorities say Sheets was found dead at his Lake Havasu City home on April 22. The Lake Havasu City Police Department stated that officers arrived to find a male subject who appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

In the wake of Sheets’ passing, Nezhoda took to Instagram to tribute his former rival, stressing that despite their on-screen clashes, they were “friends” in real life. He added that Sheets had been dealing with a cyberbully who “tormented him lately,” and he urged authorities to look into the harassment, emphasizing that cyberbullying is wrong.

During the same video, Nezhoda reflected on how people may misjudge public figures, noting that fans don’t truly know what someone is going through and that online bullying is unacceptable for anyone, including athletes and reality-TV personalities.

Nezhoda did not name the individual alleged to be behind the cyberbullying. A Lake Havasu Police Department spokesperson told Page Six that cyberbullying accusations are part of the ongoing investigation.
