Storage Wars fan-favorite Darrell Sheets died on April 22 at his Lake Havasu City home, aged 67. He was found by local police after authorities reported that the incident appeared to involve a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Sheets, known on the show as “The Gambler,” appeared in 163 episodes and frequently battled with bids alongside his on-screen rival turned friend, his son Brandon Sheets.

Following the news, Storage Wars co-star René Nezhoda spoke out on Instagram, sharing that despite their on-screen clashes, they were “friends” in real life. He urged that something positive come from Sheets’ passing and revealed that a cyberbully had been tormenting him in the lead-up to his death. “Deep down, we were friends,” Nezhoda wrote, and he added that the cyberbullying had become a significant issue for Sheets.

In the clip, Nezhoda reflected on the impact of online torment, saying, “You never know what demons somebody faces and what they go through and what you might push them through.” He noted that Sheets had been posting about the person he believed was cyberbullying him and expressed a hope that authorities would address the situation, stressing that it’s not acceptable to bully anyone.

Nezhoda did not name the individual in his message, instead emphasizing a broader anti-cyberbullying stance: “Just because you watch us on television doesn’t mean you know us… That’s not [just] us, that’s anybody. You shouldn’t cyberbully at all.”

A Lake Havasu Police Department spokesperson told Page Six that they are aware of cyberbullying accusations and that such concerns are part of the ongoing investigation.
